Pre-Teens 29:11
Middle School 29:11 Ministry (Grades 5-7)Wednesdays during the school year.

29:11 Goal is to reach children for Christ and teach them about Him! A Snack Supper (cost is $2.00) is available at 5:45 PM in the East Campus building. The program begins at 6:15 and ends promptly at 7:45 PM.

29:11 is an exciting ministry for the pre-teen students of First Baptist Church. Today's pre-teens face bigger challenges sooner than ever before. Therefore, this program is designed specifically for 5th and 6th grade students and is based on Jeremiah 29:11...

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "they are plans for good and not for disaster, plans to give you a future and a hope."

Our goal is to help students realize that God truly has a plan for each and every one of their lives and to help them learn to follow that plan.

Our further goal is to teach students that while we follow God's plan for our lives, storms will still come, and we must build a life on the solid rock foundation of Jesus Christ so through His strength, we can weather those storms. (Matthew 7:24-25)

29:11 begins each week at 6:15 PM with a snack supper, followed at 6:45 with worship time. Music is led by our outstanding praise band, then a short game time and a devotional from the Children's Director. Students then meet in break-out groups, led by a church-approved adult who shares more in-depth Bible study with the pre-teens. Mentoring happens as leaders talk with students about the needs they have in their lives. Cultivating a personal prayer life and relationship with Jesus are encouraged in these groups as well.

Pre-teens love to help others! They are encouraged to regularly contribute non-perishable food items to our Food Bank. Generosity is also directed to Samaritans Purse, Hurricane Katrina Relief, and Haitian Relief efforts - to name a few. Other opportunities to serve include knitting gifts, and joining the praise band and praise team to help lead worship.
