Please join us at 5:00 pm on January 29th for our annual Post Season Sportsmen’s Bash! The antler scoring competition and chili cook-off is a fun way to showcase skill and eat great food!
Bring your antlers to be scored! Call the church at (417) 256-3128 or go online for scoring rules. Prizes awarded for the highest scored antlers!
Bring in your best chili to be tasted by our judges! Prizes awarded for the Top Chef!
Competition Rules:
Official Chili Cook-Off Rules
  1. Check in at the First Baptist Church South Campus Facility by 4:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 29.  Your chili must be prepared, ready-to-eat, and warm in a Crock Pot.  Please prepare at least 6 quarts of chili. We ask that you be present to serve your chili. 
  2. Chili can consist of any kind of meat, beans, vegetables, chili peppers, spices and other ingredients, or combination thereof; if you call it chili, we will call it chili. You must be willing to eat your own chili.
  3. FBC will provide serving utensils, tasting cups, bowls, spoons and napkins. Feel free to bring any garnishes that you would normally serve with your chili.
  4. Each chili will be judged in one of three categories:  Traditional, Non-Traditional, or Wild Game. Chili will be judged on texture, aroma, flavor, and presentation. Chili will be ready for public eating only after samples are prepared for the judges.
  5. You will receive an entry number and description card. Please display this card with your chili. Winners will be announced at the end of the program (you must be present to win in order to receive your prize).
Antler Scoring Guidelines
  1. Check in at the First Baptist Church South Campus Facility between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 29. 
  2. Antlers must be brought in by the taker.
  3. Antlers must be presented with permit, with confirmation # of deer entered in contest.
  4. Deer must have been taken from Howell, Oregon, Shannon, Texas, Ozark or Douglas County.
  5. At registration you will receive an entry form and / your antlers will be placed on display for the evening event.
  6. This is an unofficial scoring.
  7. Winners will be announced at the end of the program (you must be present to win in order to receive your prize).
