- Live- Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal
and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
We want everyone to know how to have the abundant life God has offered through
- Hope- Psalms directs us, “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.” As believers we are blessed twofold, our hope has been fulfilled and is yet to be.We have so much hope anchored in Christ.
- Live Hope- Recognizing this abundant life He
has provided and the exorbitant hope we carry allows us to thrive in a life
full of expectation. FBC is fully
convinced and fully engaged in sharing our hope with those around us.
FBC is an integral part of our family’s spiritual journey. Jill grew up here, we were married here, and our kids were all three baptized here. At FBC we have felt supported through difficult times as well as times of rejoicing. Our church family has had a tremendous impact on our relationship with Jesus. We love FBC!
How do I write a brief testimony of what FBC has done in my life?? There are so many ways they have blessed us. When the boys were young we tried several churches but never had landed anywhere and several friends kept trying to get us to come to First Baptist Church. The Cherry Tree was impacting us all even back then, to make a long story short with prodding of some friends of ours, our lives have never been the same. When we walked in the door you could feel the Holy Spirit radiating. Within a month Zachary was baptized, within 2 months Guy was baptized, I was re-baptized, and six months later Steven was baptized. I have been known to drive over to the church parking lot, day or night, and sit for an hour just taking in the feeling of our home. This church is our family. I thank God for this church everyday and I pray that we can do our best to make it the greatest Church, God's Church!
After the first service I sat through at FBC I wondered why it took me so long to get here. I met with Pastor John in the side room and basically interviewed him. I wanted to know if the church had a heart for missions, whether or not it had a vision or a plan for ministering to others, did it stay the traditional path or it was it willing to try new paths to get the Lords work done, was it biblical, and would it be willing to accept and help grow a ministry for adults with special needs. I can say "Yes!" to all of the above. I am consistently challenged to pray more, study more, and serve more.
